The Rushi Modular Headpiece System was named after Liu Rushi (1618–1664) was a poet, an independent spirit (she often cross-dressed), known as one of the "Eight Beauties of Qinhuai" and a patriot. Sold by her family into prostitution at an early age, Liu Rushi had a hard life, but with her intelligence and talent for writing poetry she quickly became popular with highly ranked politicians, poets and leaders. In 1640 Liu embarked on a campaign to marry the respected scholar Qian Qianyi. Dressed in men's clothing, she accosted Qian and requested his opinion on one of her poems, which got his attention. They were soon married which broke many rules in China at the time. Her affinity for cross-dressing persisted after they were married; she regularly wore men's clothing whilst in public. This affectation earned her the nickname rushi, "Confucian Gentleman", which also puns on her chosen name Rushi.

Paying a fair wage and striving for the best working conditions while being mindful of local customs and traditions. This helps preserve ancient techniques that are fading from the earth as large scale manufacturing and automation increase.

We can help you with a return request, an adjustment or a replacement item depending on the circumstances. All items must be in new condition, unworn and clean for a return to be accepted.

I recently purchased the Elohim Wide Textured Band in Silver from O&D, I'm really impressed with the quality. The band feels like a piece of art. The attention to details begins with the packaging, which is quite elegant,
